Business Climate Shifts: Profiles of Change Makers Summary

The SQUEEZE: Managing change is difficult in today’s technology-driven environment. Managing change to rapid business conditions is equally difficult. For the seasoned professional, change may require reading literature. However, for the small business entrepreneur, change could include a complete overhaul of products and solutions. W. Warner Burke, William Trahant, and Richard Koonce express these sentiments within “Business Climate Shifts: Profiles of Change Makers.” The authors interview current CEOs and use their experiences and wisdom as the basis for the book. The authors address current problems with globalization, new technologies, electronic connectivity, and financial markets. Burke, Trahant, and Koonce also explore the rise of e-businesses and online retail markets. Some of their profiles include Lord Colin Marshall, Chairman of British Airways; and Jane Garvey, Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration. “Business Climate Shifts” is a provocative and informative read.
